Boat oil change · Orem, Utah
Boat oil change service — the simplest way to protect your engine.
Fresh, marine-grade oil is the cheapest insurance your engine can get. We change engine oil and filters, service gear lube and run a multi-point inspection on outboards, sterndrives and inboard wake boats — done right, with the oil your manufacturer specifies.

Why it matters in Utah
Boat engines work harder than car engines.
A boat engine runs under constant load — there's no coasting on water. Add heavy ballast for wakesurfing, hot Utah summer days and high-elevation lakes, and engine oil breaks down faster than many owners expect.
The most common recommendation is to change the oil every 100 hours or once a season, whichever comes first — even on low-hour boats, because oil ages and collects moisture and acids while the boat sits through winter. Always use marine-grade oil: automotive oil isn't built for marine engines.

Oil Change FAQ
Oil Change in Utah, answered.
How often should I change my boat's oil?
The most common rule is every 100 hours of operation or once a season, whichever comes first. Many Utah boaters change it every fall before storage. Always follow your engine manufacturer's recommendation.
Can I use car oil in my boat?
No. Marine engines run under constant load and are exposed to more moisture, so they need marine-grade oil with the viscosity and specification your manufacturer calls for.
Why change the oil if I barely used my boat?
Oil ages even when the engine doesn't run. Combustion byproducts form acids and moisture collects, and that sits on engine parts all winter. That's why an annual change is recommended even on low-hour boats.
Do you change gear lube too?
Yes. We change lower unit or outdrive gear lube and inspect it for water or metal — milky gear lube is an early warning of a seal problem.
Do you do oil changes on inboard wake boats?
Yes. We service inboard wake and ski boats with Indmar, PCM, MerCruiser and other engines, and can check or service the transmission and V-drive fluid at the same time.
Should I change the oil before winterizing?
Yes — it's one of the most important parts of winterization. Fresh oil protects internal parts during months of storage. We include it in our winterization service.
